Joel Fast, DMD

Dr. Joel Fast, a compassionate and skilled dentist from Oregon, was raised in Salem and is renowned for his ability to connect with patients on a personal level. A graduate of Oregon State University and the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, Dr. Fast has been practicing dentistry since 2006. Over the years, he has gained experience across diverse settings, including non-profit and corporate environments, and has been providing high-quality care in private practice since 2013.

Dr. Fast takes pride in his patient-centered approach, emphasizing open communication and a collaborative, gentle style. He believes in guiding patients through their dental treatment with thoughtful advice and support, rather than a "take it or leave it" mentality. His patients value his ability to make them feel heard and respected, creating a comfortable and positive experience at every visit.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Fast has been deeply involved in the dental community. He was elected as a member of the House of Delegates for the Washington State Dental Association, where he helped shape policies and advocate for the profession. He also served as a faculty member at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, teaching clinical skills to dental students while directing the Rural Initiative Dental Education program in northeastern Washington State, providing care to underserved communities. Dr. Fast has volunteered his expertise internationally, working in Honduras and Jamaica, and locally with Medical Teams International's mobile dental clinics.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Fast is passionate about adventure and fitness. He has completed Ironman triathlons and participated in Grand Fondo road cycling events in the stunning Alpine Dolomites. He enjoys spending time with his partner, Amy, and friends on "bike-packing" trips, exploring the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and the rugged terrain of the Andes Mountains in South America. When he's not adventuring, he enjoys mountain biking, road cycling, motorcycling, snowboarding, and scuba diving. Dr. Fast also has a love for wine collecting and, in 2005, was crowned the Oregon State Grape Stomping Champion.
